London – February 25th, 2021: WTA is pleased to announce the acquisition of Calibrand Limited by its client Civica UK Limited.
WTA advises Civica in its acquisition of online assessment software specialist Calibrand Limited
Civica, a global leader in software for public services, extends its software capability amid global shift to online assessments
Founded in 1991, Calibrand specialises in e-assessment software which enables organisations to test and certify workforce skills throughout the employment lifecycle, from recruiting and continuing professional development to compliance testing.
COVID-19 has seen a rapid acceleration to online assessments and digital learning. The acquisition supports Civica’s cloud strategy and will enable Civica to offer full assessment solutions, combined with its existing Civica Assessments software, which supports major customers including the British Council. It will complement the Group’s broader solutions for customers in education and its extensive human capital management capability, in particular for recruitment management and e-learning.
Calibrand, the currency for talent® works across a range of sectors, delivering over 10 million assessments worldwide for major customers including Birmingham City University, NOCN Group and the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA).
Calibrand provides e-assessment software to assess, automate, measure, benchmark and test people during periods of employment and training. The software can be accessed in multiple ways, including mobile; with all content held centrally to eliminate duplication and data error and to provide holistic management information.
Wayne Story, Civica Group CEO, said:
We’re very pleased to welcome Calibrand to the Civica Group. Together we can offer broader solutions to complement our existing global assessment solutions. With the wider acceleration of digitisation in this area, we will be able to help more customers across sectors to offer comprehensive online testing and assessments and build more successful workplaces.”
Denis Saunders, Managing Director at Calibrand added:
Increasingly, successful organisations are those that are effective in measuring and enhancing the value of their people: the skills, competence and talent of those within an organisation. We’re delighted to join Civica at a time of great opportunity for the online assessments sector. Our combined expertise will be of great value to all our customers, offering even wider access to leading cloud software to improve services across organisations.”
Alan Butterworth, WTA’s partner commented “We continue to work very closely with the Civica team and this is the seventh excellent business we’ve helped to find to fill strategic gaps in their portfolio”.
