London – April 30th, 2018 – WTA is pleased to announce the sale of Union Solutions (“Union”), a UK-based IT services provider, to Claranet. Union is an infrastructure services company that optimises and transforms infrastructure services to exploit the cloud using a hybrid cloud model. This is also the second WTA client company acquired by Claranet
Established in 2006, Surrey based Union employs around 30 staff and has an annual turnover of £10m and delivers cloud scale, cloud economics, and cloud agility with enterprise class performance, availability, recoverability and security. It provides consulting, architecture design, and change engineering; technology solutions from some of the world’s leading manufacturers and public cloud platforms including an Azure specialism.
Union will become part of the Claranet Group of companies and the co-founders, Jason Rabbetts and Nick Russ, are staying with the business and will be working to grow Claranet’s hosting services.
WTA worked with the company as their exclusive M&A advisor.
Jason Rabbetts spoke of WTA’s role “Working with WTA as our advisors was a genuine pleasure. They were able to identify potential acquirers very well, which meant our time and messaging was focussed. Their approach to preparing a punchy and articulate slide-deck based IM, rather than the more usual tome, saved time and gained more attention. Their negotiation and deal structure advice was on point, and when it came to the due diligence process they didn’t hide in the background, they were proactive and always available and responsive. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to any technology company going to market.”
Jeffrey Jenner said “This transaction further establishes WTA as the lead specialist in the mid-market infrastructure services sector and follows the sale of Ardenta and LETN. We are very pleased too that the buyer was the fast-growing Claranet Group making this the second time we have transacted a client company with them in less than two years.”
